I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
Today was the funeral for the dad of my friend
ReplyDeleteShelley. He's the one who'd had the brain tumor removed a couple of months ago. Please pray that God helps the family process their grief, and provides for all of their needs, and helps them with some touch decisions they are going to have to make about work, housing, etc. Pam
Today was my due date. Baby is kicking around more, but still hasn't decided when to come out. Please pray for God to take control of everything from decisions, to dealing with pain, to endurance, to mental strength, etc. Pam
ReplyDeleteGary,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your email. The tantrum situation w/ Ivan seems to be ebb and flow. Just when I think things are getting better, we have a wopper. It's good to know he's not "the only one like this". A friend of mine said it's possible he has a mild form of autism in response to his ritualistic behaviors. Please pray that this is not the case, but if it is, that God will provide a way for us to know so we can get him help. Pam
Pam, I will pray baby comes out now safe and healthy. I remember Heidi when it was her due date wanting it to be over yet not at the baby's risk. I will also pray your friend didn't put any fear in your hearts or minds with the autism comment. Don't let that weigh on your mind now. He's a little kid who wants his way but doesn't always know what that means let alone us knowing also. Hava's mind changes all the time, which leads to crying all the time, and I mean, all the time. I rarely know what she wants or what's going on in her mind. And her new favorite word is "no" to everything. And Gabe, he's 3 going on a rebellious 16..... we have a great look at original sin. We don't teach them how to sin but they do it anyway. Prayers are with you.
