I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.

Please pray the crew from Hiawatha Church, including my wife, Heidi, returns safely from Haiti today. They were there rebuilding a medical facility destroyed by the earthquake. Thank you.
