I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
Two prayer requests:
ReplyDelete1)That God will make me slow to speak & slow to become angry. I've just had a really trying time w/ Ivan since Sophia's birth. Part of it has been the sleep deprivation thing & having to pay attention to a new baby, but sometimes I get so frustrated with myself for how I react to his misbehavior & his inappropriate acting out for attention. I want to be firm, but to act & speak in LOVE rather than anger.
2)I have a new nodule on my thyroid, and one of the other nodules has grown. I will have another blood test to see if my thyroid is still working, and then in January another ultrasound to check the growth or addition of nodules. If things continue growing I may have another biopsy or thryoid medicine, and ultimately could possibly have my thyroid removed (something I don't want unless I absolutely have to). Unfortunately, biopsies are not 100% accurate, and can give false negatives. Please pray that my thyroid issues were only due to hormonal issues from my pregnancy or that God will just heal my thyroid of any problems, so I won't need to have it removed, and so that I may live a long life to see my kids grow up.
After I posted my request, the following words came to my mind. "Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Just thought I'd share that.

Hey, Gary, How's your back? I know what it's like to have problems. Mine hurts all the time these days. I need to get back into yoga when I can start leaving Sophie w/ mom for a couple of hours. Yoga really helped me during the pregnancy w/ strength, flexibility, and just slowing down & relaxing.
ReplyDeleteGary,
ReplyDeleteDon't know why my previous comment about backs & yoga was posted as being from ik1jxOt0w..... it was from Pam :)
Also...how's the job situation? More people were quietly laid off from Alex's work. They just show up for work and find out their "services are no longer required" without reason. Please thank God that Alex still has a job, and pray that he will keep his current job at least until we get the house paid off next year if not longer (rumors are there will be more layoffs in April).
