Little dude

Had a great night last night ice skating with my little dude. He skated for almost 3 hours. It was his second time ever ice skating and my second time since 2001 on skates. I miss skating and playing hockey! For most of the day on Friday we, Silver Creek Family Church, had a conference for the soccer coaches for International Soccer Academy. We had two sets of worship times and three speakers talking about different aspects of missions and ministry. Hopefully the kids listened and got something out of it. They are vital to the camp running next week and the kids from the community attending learning about soccer and God. Saturday saw the return of our pastor and his family from their vacation. They are here safe and sound after what sounded like a wonderful time to get away and have fun as a family. Tonight at a staff dinner we had talks about politics and different things going on in the world and around us. Thankfully though some of us on staff have different political views we can discuss and come back to Jesus/God. Thankfully we have God to turn to in times like this because things around us are so polarized and done with selfish intent. Please pray for not only the current leaders but those who are running and will be elected. We discussed the difficult job of trying to work in the political realm but also holding on to beliefs and morals of being a Christian. Pray for our leaders even if we do not agree with them. Pray for peace. I'm heading to bed. Big day tomorrow with my friend Mike Jorgensen coming into town from Minnesota. We're heading up to Vancouver after church to see The Tragically Hip in their farewell tour. First time I saw them was I believe May 30, 1993 in Somerset, WI and I lost count how many time I've seen them live since then.
