I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
I am feeling sick. Please pray that I get better and that it doesn't last long. I am tired and run-down with a slight sore throat and a cough and sneeze. Thanks Honey! Love you.
ReplyDeleteLove that you're doing this, Gary. And who can turn down the chance to be prayed for?? Not I!!! Add me to the list of job seekers ~ want a 1/2 to 3/4 time position and would LOVE to be it to be in the publishing business or a non-profit.
ReplyDeleteGary...what a great way to create community among believers and strengthen the body as a whole. Please pray for Tony as he makes business decisions and formulates a plan for upcoming months. He wants to take the journey God's way. Hugs...Denise
ReplyDeleteHey Cheryl; that list is getting big and since misery loves company, :), we welcome you aboard the job hunt/want list. Don't you wonder sometimes if God truly does know the desires of our hearts? I do!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting, Denise. This is so much better than sifting through my junk e-mails looking for this kind of relationship. I pray and empathize with Tony in his upcoming business thoughts and endeavors. These times are especially when you want God to hit you over the head with a brick to say "go this way and do that".... I will pray for Tony's discernment and a clear vision. Give the big guy a hug for me, please.
ReplyDeleteI received this e-mail today from a friend of mine from my Ukraine days. She now lives in Vancouver. Let's pray for Sasha.
ReplyDeleteGary,
My Toronto friend Sasha (you do not know him) is in ER with malaria and pneumonia and something else after his diving trip to Honduras. He has been unconscious for three days on artificial ventilation and has slim chances of surviving. Could you please pray for him? If you could, that would be nice.
Thanks,
Kate
Gary,
ReplyDeleteIs this Yermakov or Drobushevsky?
Pam
Gary,
ReplyDeleteHere's my little update.
I was able to make an appointment with a prospective doctor, but it isn't until February 2nd. I tried another, but he wasn't available until March. I don't have any more strength to make calls today, so maybe tomorrow I will find someone else to interview.
I spoke with a prospective doula (birth coach) on the phone for about 45 minutes today. I felt really good about our conversation. I will talk to Alex about setting up a "meet & greet" with her. I am concerned that Alex will not want to pay the $900 fee for her services which a 7 week class in addition to her meetings with us, the birth & birth followup meetings. It sounds pricey, but she is one of the most experienced doulas when it comes to VBAC deliveries, and she is a registered nurse. I know that having a doula greatly improves my chances of a successful VBAC, so this is something I want.
I called the Women's Health Clinic associated with Community Hospital to see if I could be seen in their resident program to get some basic care until I have an OB, but they are not taking people with insurance at this time, because the insurance companies try to dictate too much.
I called my general practitioner to see if he would see me temporarily, and maybe get some of the tests started until I get an OB, but the nurse sounded doubtful.
Please pray that God will give me & Alex direction, peace, and work out all of the above items for the best.
Pam
Good morning, Pam. I'm not sure which Sasha it is. Since Katya said I didn't know him I don't think it's Yermakov. I read your update and will continue to keep these issues in prayer. I will also pray it does not cause a little riff between you and Alex trying to navigate through this with may be differing thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys for praying. No, Pam, you do not know him, I met them in Toronto 9 (NINE) years ago. They are really nice people.
ReplyDeleteWith regards to doula, Pam, I had a midwife and even though I ended up with a hospital birth, she helped a lot. Good luck with doula.
