I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
Thank God it was just a dislocated arm. The doctor put it back into place and he seems to be doing ok now. But it sure was hard getting him to the doctor, because he was in so much pain! Ironically "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" was running through my head the whole time. :)
