I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
Ivan came down with a high fever (105.1F/40.61C). Turns out he has Influenza A. We've all been prescribed Tamiflu in order to protect Sophie. Please keep us in your prayers. Last night was an all nighter for me & Ivan, so I'm not feeling so great right now either. Please keep us in your prayers,
ReplyDeleteIvan's fever is gone now and he is on the road to recovery, but Sophie now has a slight fever, so we are keeping an eye on her. Why does she always have to get sick at the weekend? Pam
ReplyDeleteIvan has injured his arm. Waiting to hear back from our oncall doctor. We are still recovering from Influenza A so I'm not thrilled about the prospect of having to go to the hospital tonight, but he's been in pain for over an hour. At least his urinary infection is gone. Is this a chapter from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate events? Please pray. SIGH.
ReplyDeleteWe fell asleep waiting for someone to call us back. No one ever did. He's still in pain. I called the on call exchange they have no record of my call last night. Now I have to wait for the doctor's office to open at 8am. He is still in a lot of pain. I don't know how I'm going to get him into the car seat. I could hardly get a diaper on him on the couch.
ReplyDeleteJust got off the phone w/ the doctor's office. We have a 9:15 appointment.
ReplyDeleteI saw a post on FB that my friend Shirla has gone to the hospital and to pray for her. Don't know what has happened, but please pray anyways.
ReplyDeletePam, how is everyone doing? I haven't been on here in awhile, in a little funk about life right now and where I'm at. I am praying for you and your family though, especially Ivan and Sophie. I smiled a little with the Lemony Snicket reference as that was just on the other day. I remember seeing it in the theatre. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I'll get this thing going up again tomorrow morning. You're a faithful soul.
