I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
My relatives in the Seattle area, Phil and Karen, had some good news from the doctor concerning Phil's cancer, "stop taking antiviral meds - no concern, pulminary function improved, bone marrow good - you can go about business you have no restrictions."
ReplyDeleteMissionaries from an organization I worked for 14 years ago have a missionary in the east/middle east area. A friend in the region interested in God recently had a dream about a young man she knew sitting in a garden, a voice told her that the man had answers to her questions so when she woke up she called him and told him about the dream. He replied, "Jesus has been waiting for you. He wants all of who you are. He's ready to be your best friend." She now believes entirely in God and Jesus.
