I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
Gary, you have probably read of the subway blasts in Moscow. My sister went to the university 20 minutes earlier today; otherwise she would be passing Park Cultury at the time of the blast. Let's praise God that she is safe.
ReplyDeleteThank God, Katya. I've been thinking of all of my wonderful Russian friends today hoping they and everyone they know are alright. It's sad because this will never resolve anything. I pray Chechnya and that area doesn't heat up again with war. God Bless you, Kate.

Killing innocent civilians is the most disgusting war tactics. And you are right, it will never resolve anything.
