Religion is the opiate of the masses!

"Religion is the opiate of the people/masses" declared Karl Marx which arguably spelled the doom of communism before he even finished his thoughts and people put them into practice. Wow, after a day of hearing people's reactions about the health care bill on t.v., at work, and hearing what some politicians are saying it has almost turned into a religious ordeal. One person I know against it said it was unbiblical and there's nothing in the Bible to support it. Another person at my work, likening the passing of the bill to a further step towards socialism or communism, said those were ungodly. And yet others argue that a democracy and capitalism is Godly while anything looking like Socialism or Communism is of the devil. To those who believe this way I have to ask:
1. Please show me in the Bible where God condones freedom of religion because mine says "you shall not worship any other God but me."
2. Please show me in the Bible where God condones freedom of speech because in mine it says to keep away from unwholesome talk and rather all things said should be towards the edification of others to God.
3. Please show me in the Bible where God condones Capitalism because in mine there is plenty of talk against being greedy and making your life mission seeking after money and possessions.

Religion should not even be in discussion here. To use the Bible as a political know how book because it may mention something about government is like someone using Karl Marx in defining God because it mentions God; albeit in a bad way. The Bible is not a "how to run a government and political system" book, it is about God and His relationship with people throughout time culminating to His Son Jesus Christ dying on the cross for our sins, resurrecting from the grave overcoming death so that we may not feel death. It is not a book on how to run a government. Socialism and Communism are un-American, and un-USA - if that is a phrase. They are not more unbiblical than democracy and capitalism. Both are truly unbiblical because if you want to be biblical you need to have a theocracy with Christ as King and ruler of all. Until America votes for that to happen, no matter what form of government we have, it will fail because it is based on people's beliefs and we're all different and want different things. I am American and would argue having freedom of religion and speech over the main stays of Communist USSR, which was freedom to have a job and free health care. Many people I know there still would rather have that than the American version of freedom. Anyway, I'm done. Just please keep Jesus Christ and God out of this political mess!!!!!
