I've always liked the story of the Ninevites praying to God and receiving compassion after hearing of their intended destruction. And admired our sister church in El Salvador watching them pray with passion. I hope to capture some of that here where we can share prayer requests. Shiends comes from when my kids were young and just starting to talk. They both had sleeping friends but couldn't say friends and kept saying "shiends". So "shiends" has been in our vocabulary ever since.
My friend thought her son, Hudson, had mono. they took him to the hospital when his foot swoll up only to find out he had a bacterial infection. He had some sort of emergency surgery at midnight. I imagine it was on his foot, but dont' know. Pam
ReplyDeleteGood news, Sophie's test results from her stool sample turned up negative for (C Diff) Clostridium difficile, a bacterium that can cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to life-threatening inflammation of the colon. It typically occurs after use of antibiotic medications. Since I was given antibiotics after the C-section, the doctor was concerned that this could be what was ailing Sophie. I think in my previous email I mistakenly called it CPD. Sophie looks a little better, and doesn't seem to have reacted to my 1/2 a piece of wheat bread a day. Her stools are less green, but it is still lingering. I will submit a stool sample at the end of the week or beginning of next week to see if there is still blood & mucus.

Update on Hudson...his surgery was to remove toxic his from his foot. Libby said that he will probably be in the hospital for a week. James, her husband has been out of work a number of months and they have no medical insurance. Libby hopes that they will be able to have the costs covered by MediCal. Please pray that God will heal Hudson, and provide for them financially.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Pam and a prayer request for Hudson. I am so happy to hear Sophie is doing well and the tests came back negative. I hope you are able to get the rest you need to get your strength up for daily activities. God Bless you, Pam, and I will add Hudson to my list for daily prayers.
